Hartford Design is a graphic design and visual branding practice based in Chicago. We create digital and print solutions for some of the world’s most respected companies.
A key tenet of successful business management is maximizing your return on investment. That’s partially what makes finding the right design consultants akin to searching for the Holy Grail. Even if you have the inclination to try, it’s difficult to quantify good design and branding.
Time and again, Hartford Design has demonstrated the ability to team with the best minds in branding, marketing communications, public relations and other disciplines to deliver communication solutions that work in and of themselves and as components of the client’s overall brand strategy.
Here are the people on our team. To each project, they bring original thinking, years of experience, wisdom, enthusiasm and hard work.

Tim is our fearless leader, pushing us to greater heights and helping us love every minute. Even after 25 years in the profession, he never comes off as a know-it-all. Well, at least most days. While he’s known to be nitpicky about point size, leading, kerning and tracking, we know we’re better designers for his watchful ministrations. Now and again when pressed into service, Tim makes a mean Manhattan.

Larry is a relentless usability fiend and advocate for obfuscation minimalization. An ace in print, he can also code a website in his sleep and knows the ABC’s of PHP. He protects the goal of clarity with the watchful eye and the lighting quick reflexes of a cat. Why? Because he cares deeply for you dear user. As a result, Larry has the all time record for consecutive saves at Hartford Design.

Julie makes sure that Hartford Design runs like the well-designed, well-oiled machine it is. No surprise. She’s a Virgo. Nothing to astrology, you say? Virgos, known as the best workers in the zodiac, are organized, analytical, ingenious, goal-oriented, and fanatic about details. Hartford Design’s head librarian, she collects cookbooks but rarely cooks.

Beatrice is a native of Switzerland and a skier, which means she’s used to the cold—a terrific attribute for someone who’s called on to help make tough, unemotional decisions about financial resources and realities. A study in contrasts, Beatrice is unusually warm-hearted. Because she’s Swiss, it was probably inevitable that she’d choose to work with designers.
